Learn the exciting, unpredictable, and beautiful art of eco printing, a contact printing process using botanical materials such as leaves and flowers on paper and natural fabrics.
In this one-day workshop we will cover the basics of eco printing on assorted selections of paper. We'll explore a variety of local botanicals, cover tips and techniques for making and steaming bundles, preparing mordants, and using modifiers which help to bring out details and color. We will also go over next-step embellishing techniques on finished prints such as using watercolor pencils, beading, using encaustic wax, and how to create cards and small stitched booklets.
Fee includes: course instruction and demonstrations, materials and supplies, and equipment usage.
Additional supplies will be available for purchase.
