Native to China, Korea, and various parts of Japan the Camellia japonica attracts polinators and song birds with its beautiful blooms ranging from white, cream, pink, red, purple, yellow or variegated. Blooms come in a variety of forms such as rose, peony, single or cluster. Leaves: The leaves are dark green, glossy, and leathery, with a serrated edge. They are typically 3-5 inches long. Flowers: Japanese Camellias produce large, showy flowers that can be single, semi-double, or double in form. The flowers range in color from white and pink to deep red, and sometimes variegated. They bloom from late winter to spring. Size: Mature plants can reach heights of 6-12 feet (1.8-3.6 meters) and spread to about 5-10 feet (1.5-3 meters) wide.
