Heartburn and Acid Reflux Relief Tea

Heartburn is caused by a backward flow, or reflux of stomach acid, into your esophagus. Your lower esophageal sphincter is supposed to prevent the contents of your stomach from escaping, but sometimes it relaxes or weakens and allows acid to flow backward into the esophagus. Since your esophagus isn’t meant to house acid, it can cause a burning sensation.

This herbal tea blend can reduce acid reflux and heartburn by soothing the stomach, easing excess gas, and acting as an anti inflammatory. The herbs are packed with antioxidants and have antibacterial properties, that can help get to the root of stomach issues.

Our organically grown ingredients and how they help:

Chamomile

Chamomile tea is known for reducing anxiety and helping people fall sleep. It’s also used to calm an upset stomach and other digestive issues.

Calendula

Calendula is commonly used to help remedy peptic ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It supports the healing of gastric and intestinal inflammation from infection or irritation through its vulnerary (wound healing), anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial actions.

Meadowsweet

Meadowsweet has a long tradition of use as an anti-inflammatory herb that targets the stomach in particular. It's also astringent. This herbal action helps to tighten up and tone the gastric region. It is also similar to aspirin.

Oregon Grape Root

A key compound in Oregon grape root is berberine, which has both antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties making it effective at treating stomach ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach upset, as a bitter tonic, to treat infections, and to cleanse the bowels.

Marshmallow Root

Marshmallow root also has the potential to treat a wide range of digestive conditions including constipation, heartburn, and intestinal colic. Research suggests that the mucilage content in marshmallow root creates a protective layer of tissue on the lining of the digestive tract. Marshmallow root may also stimulate the cells that support tissue regeneration.

Licorice Root

Licorice can help increase the mucus coating of the esophageal lining, which may help reduce the effects of back flowing stomach acid.

Ginger Root

Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties and can help relieve nausea.

Spearmint

Spearmint contains a much lower level of menthol than other mint species, making it a more suitable option for those with acid reflux by soothing digestive conditions.
