Kava Kava Root Powder

Organically grown and sustainably harvested.

Botanical Name: Piper methysticum

Origin: Fiji

Kava kava root is obtained from a low-growing plant in the Piperaceae family, which includes black pepper.

While various cultures throughout the Polynesian region of the Pacific use the cut and dried root to make traditional tonics and ceremonial beverages, it is more common to use the powdered root in the west.

To enhance flavor and sweetness, an infusion or tea made from kava root powder is often blended with any combination of cocoa, coconut milk and lemongrass. The powder can also be mixed with fruit juices.

CAUTION: US FDA advises that a potential risk of rare, but severe, liver injury may be associated with Kava. Consult a health care practitioner before use, and if taking any medications. Discontinue use if any adverse reactions occur. Not for use by persons under 18 years of age, with alcoholic beverages, or by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Excessive use, or use with products that cause drowsiness, may impair your ability to operate a vehicle or dangerous equipment.
